TALES FROM IVORUS
About the Author
Rufus Moroes, at your service.

One overly fussy goof with a doofy smile. When I'm (more often than) not procrastinating writing my next novel, you can usually find me with Shadowbringer in hand, defending Etheirys from the next looming threat. And there's always a next looming threat.

Most of my inspiration is drawn forth from music. Whenever I hear a song I cannot get enough of, my brain loves to conjure up fantastical scenes to serve as the foreground for whatever killer track I'm listening to. Characters are born from these whimsical fever-daydreams, and the worlds that surround them aren't far behind.

Could be something to do with my formal education in film, but your guess is as good as mine as to why I'm wired like this.

My favorite music genre is definitely Metal. Bands and artists like Soilwork, Brendan Small (both Dethklok and Galaktikon), Unexpect, Pentakill, Trivium, Kamelot, and Kvelertak really send my creativity surging wildly out of control.

Aside from music, I do draw inspiration from authors I've loved since I was a kid. Roger Zelazny stands at the forefront of them, followed by the likes of Douglas Adams, HP Lovecraft, and a bit of Keith Laumer. Works from folk like Christopher Hastings, Andrew Hussie, and Natsuko Ishikawa have also expanded my imagination in (sick-nasty) spades.

I do, rarely, branch out into other genres as well. Currently, when I'm not writing fantasy, I do my best to entertain Reddit with spooky stories. A change of pace to keep practice, really. My expertise on the subject does not extend beyond dabbling, as I'm entirely afraid of everything even remotely scary. Except Lovecraft, which is kinda weird, right?

Those stories can be found, buried away, here.
